Classic Eastern Bloc
At Rust Republic, we do love a good Eastern Bloc/Iron Curtain vehicle and we have proudly restored several of them already.
Skoda, Tatra, Wartburg and Zastava are just a few examples of these historic vehicles that have passed through our workshop and can regularly be seen attending Iron Curtain events across the UK.
A 1974 Skoda S110LS that we restored was also selected to have its own six page feature in Classics Monthly August 2015 edition. This was a full nut and bolt restoration back to as it left the factory in Mlada Boleslav and the finished vehicle has been very well received at classic car events and has also picked up a host of trophies along the way.
This 1990 Wartburg 1.3 Tourist received a mechanical overhaul to meet UK MOT standard in readiness for registering in the UK. Being the later 4-stroke example, this model was fitted with the IFA built engine based on the VW engine found in Golf’s of the same period but with some unique IFA attributes
